About the Role:

We are looking for a French-speaking Online Community Moderator to join our team in Lisbon. In this role, you will help manage and moderate online communities to ensure they remain safe, engaging, and aligned with our company’s values. You will be the voice of the community, actively engaging with users, facilitating discussions, and maintaining a positive environment by enforcing community guidelines and policies.

This position offers a flexible hybrid work model, allowing you to balance onsite and remote work, ensuring a healthy work-life balance while contributing to the success of our online community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and moderate community content (forums, social media, blogs, etc.) to ensure adherence to community guidelines
  • Engage with community members in French by responding to queries, fostering discussions, and encouraging positive interactions
  • Flag and report inappropriate content or violations of community guidelines (e.g., harassment, hate speech, offensive language)
  • Resolve conflicts between users, escalating issues when necessary to the appropriate teams (e.g., Legal, Trust & Safety)
  • Facilitate discussions and promote community-building initiatives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment
  • Create and maintain content (posts, polls, FAQs, etc.) to stimulate engagement and keep the community informed
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Support, Marketing, Product, etc.) to ensure community feedback is communicated and addressed
  • Provide reports on community sentiment, user feedback, and issues that arise within the community
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to improve community moderation and engagement strategies
  • Develop and update community guidelines as needed to reflect changes in platform policies, user behavior, or external regulations


What You Bring:

  • Fluent in French (spoken and written)
  • Good command of English (spoken and written)
  • Previous experience in community moderation, social media management, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of online community guidelines and digital communication
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to engage and manage conversations in a friendly, professional manner
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and neutrality
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly in challenging situations
  • Comfortable with using moderation tools, social media platforms, and community management software
  • Proactive and adaptable with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Passion for creating safe, positive, and engaging online spaces

Working Hours:

  • Full-time: 40 hours/week
  • Rotating shifts may be required depending on community activity (e.g., evenings, weekends, or holidays)
